Meet Kara.
Kara’s love for baking started at a young age when her grandmother taught her how to bake and cook. To this day, she still uses many of her grandmother’s and great-aunt’s recipes. Baking has always been a passion of hers, and she has worked in the food industry for almost 30 years in various roles such as waiting tables, and managing kitchens, and bakeries.
After years of baking for friends and family, Kara decided to turn her passion into a business. She began by selling her delicious treats at the Sun Prairie Farmer’s Market and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers. Encouraged by the response, she decided to take the leap and make Calico Confections her full-time business.
At Calico Confections, we take pride in creating high-quality baked goods using only the freshest and finest ingredients. We offer a wide variety of treats, from classic cookies and cupcakes to unique and flavorful creations. Baking is not just a job for us, it’s our passion.
